If you read my last post, you know this journey began with a bit of paperwork at the Gewerbeamt. But that was just the start of my deep dive into the world of German small business administration!

Honestly, one of the biggest and most unexpected challenges on this journey has been figuring out the accounting. At first, I underestimated the effort required to keep track of my finances, thinking that I could handle it all manually. However, given the complexity of German taxes, I quickly realized that this approach was not sustainable.

Determined to find a better way, I started exploring different accounting software options available on the market. There were so many applications to choose from, each with its own set of features and benefits. Some were too complex, while others lacked essential features that I required to manage my finances efficiently. I spent weeks testing different options, and to be frank, I got a little lost.

After a lot of research and trial-and-error, I finally found a user-friendly accounting software that made sense for my business. This software not only simplified my bookkeeping but also automated several processes. The ability to generate tax-related documents with just a few clicks is a game-changer. I can now focus more on my product, leaving the financial complexities to this reliable software.

Finding the right system has been a huge relief, and it’s one of the big pieces of the puzzle before the big launch.
